• This was the Top Gun: Maverick’s premiere

    Don’t miss out the video!

Finally! Almost 36 years later, and after two extra years of waiting due to the pandemic, Tom Cruise returns as Maverick to get our adrenaline pumping as only he knows how.

Top Gun: Maverick continues the plot that made us fall in love with the first part but adds audiovisual technology that didn’t exist more than three decades ago, and the images are breathtaking!

Of course, at One Air, as fans of everything related to aviation, we wanted to make the premiere of Top Gun a real opportunity to gather all the team, students, family and, of course, the winners of the contest we organised last week on Instagram.

To do so, we didn’t hesitate to book a full cinema room to enjoy it to the fullest. Oh, did you miss it? Here we bring you the video highlights!

About Top Gun, the film that left its mark on a whole generation of pilots

The legendary Top Gun was released on 21 August 1986, with Tom Cruise as Pete Mitchell, a young and arrogant US Navy fighter pilot who ends up at the famous Navy Fighter Weapons School, better known as Top Gun. There he trains with the elite of the US Navy.

The rest is film history. The film became a benchmark for young people all over the world who dreamed of becoming a pilot one day.

Applications to the US Navy increased by 500% after the film’s release.

Audience figures were record-breaking, making it the highest-grossing film of 1986, grossing more than $356 million.

In addition, the song Take my breath away, from the Top Gun soundtrack, won the Oscar for Best Original Song and became one of the most listened to songs by young people at the time. Top Gun left its mark on a whole generation of pilots.
